For this project, City First Youth wanted a bright, colorful graphic to advertise their Block Party event on social media. The client requested that I use the specific photo in the final design, so I used that as starting point. Since the image was lower resolution, I decided to center the image in the design and make it as large as I could to compensate. Next I began to layout the details of the event and decided to use the corners of the design to communicate the time and amount of locations. I then decided to use the edges of the image to communicate how to contact them through instagram and text message. When it came to colors, I placed a pink and orange gradient map over the block party image to make it more vibrant. Finally, I used lime green as the background to compliment the warmer pink and orange in the image and pulled pink from the image to use for the color of the text. I also added some noise to the entire image to break up the solid color background and add some texture.
