For this album artwork for MCX LLETTI, the client wanted the cover to match the aggressive aesthetic of the song. As a result, I drew inspiration from matadors and bulls in Spain which also alludes to the song’s title.
I started the design by finding a high resolution, royalty free image of a bull and bringing it into Photoshop. By using masking tools and blending modes, I was able to get the bull on a solid white background and use a red fill layer to saturate the image. Finally I added some ink and distressing textures to make it feel more like a “real” album cover and to make it feel less clean.
For the font selection, I was inspired by the pointy horns on the bull so I went with this aggressive geometric font then added some distressing textures to make it more cohesive with the background.
