For this project, City First Youth wanted a graphic to promote their Easter Afterparty following their Easter services. Inspired by some of the imagery from Easter, I found a high resolution, royalty free image of some palm branches and brought it into Lightroom to color grade it. Since the original image was more one dimensional color-wise, I decided to manipulate the photo more and give it a neon lighting inspired look by pulling different colors out of the shadows and highlights. Once I completed color correcting in Lightroom, I brought the photo into Photoshop and added some film grain textures to increase the vintage appeal. Building on the neon lights aesthetic in the photo, I found a retro 80’s inspired font that I used for the name of the event. I then used a more simple san serif font for the rest of the details. Finally, using the glow effect I made the text and cross logo appear more like neon lights by giving them a subtle outer glow and added some noise to make it more cohesive with the rest of the image.
