For this project, the client wanted a vibrant summer-like design for their new single, “Want U.” To start the artwork, I searched high resolution, royalty free images for inspiration and found this image of a female model with daisies in her mouth. Then I brought the photo into Lightroom to do some standard color correction. After that I brought the edited photo into Photoshop to begin the design. Next I added a red, purple, and yellow gradient map to the photo to meet the client’s briefing. To give some more texture to the photo I added a VCR screen texture to the image and a magazine paper texture. Finally I added the title of the song and the artist’s name in a vintage inspired font that matched the yellow used in the gradient map.
