Throughout my time working with City First Church, I designed many different digital slides and this is one of my favorites. This slide was displayed on TVs in the lobby and especially near their first time guest booth. The intention behind this slide was to create something that communicated the text the client wanted while also being visually appealing.
The design process started by using the youth department’s color scheme to connect their branding to the slide without using any logos. I then used a group photo from one of their events as the focal point since it also fit well with the overall message of the slide. Since there wasn’t much separation between the subjects and the background, I decided to use a similar “cutout” effect instead of masking the subjects out. From there I added the text and the lower third to communicate the message of the slide using the brand’s font. As a final touch I added a rectangle frame filled with noise behind the group photo to add some more interest to the slide.
